In the so 70’s Trackmaster 804X familly, the HEUER ref. 8047 stopwatch is the 1/5 second recorder model. As all Trackmasters it could be branded Leonidas or HEUER (below a 8047 Leonidas version) and the strong plastic case is available in red, blue, black, white, silver.
Although it could be considered as a general purpose stopwatch, colored divisions of its small top register helps referees to time collective sport meetings. Divisions show duration for a part time of a specific sport : half-time basket-ball (20 mn in NCAA rules), half-time hokey (35 minutes), half-time soccer (45 minutes).
The segmentation color-set can be different from a stopwatch to an another : red/white, green/white, red/green. It looks to be a cosmetic variation as the divisions are the same.
The 8047 is powered by the 1 jewel rustic and robust 8045 caliber. This pinlever escapement mecanism has a -1/+3 sec per hour accuracy according to official HEUER catalog.
So the 8047 should be the perfect tool for coachs, trainers or sport teachers. Imagine a 8047 could have been used to time young Platini or Maradona’s training session ;)…
