Stopwatch HEUER ref. 512.902

Stopwatch HEUER-Leonidas 512.902 (rattrapante) --- close-up shot ---

How this wonderful rattrapante 512.902 HEUER (formaly HEUER-LEONIDAS) stopwatch can be packaged in a Tag-HEUER box ? That’s the question ! Where does this feature come from ?
Start a short investigation. First step, read the article “from HEUER to Tag-HEUER“.
What are we learning ? In 1985 HEUER was sold to TAG group, after being redeemed by Piaget in 1982. Let’s have a confirmation on Tag-HEUER wikipedia page and of course official Tag-HEUER website.

So we can guess, this 512.902 HEUER stopwatch was made between 1984 and 1985, just before the transition. The compagny should still had HEUER branded devices but started to promote its new name and logo.
Like other HEUER devices sold in a Tag-HEUER box, it’s highly likely they were the last made under the old version of the brand, at a very special and important time for the swiss manufacturer.
